Community Risk Reduction

Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a proactive approach to keeping our community safe. Rather than only responding to emergencies, our department works year-round to identify local risks, reduce hazards, and prevent emergencies before they happen.

Through public education, fire inspections, code enforcement, emergency preparedness planning, and partnerships with local organizations, we focus on minimizing fire-related injuries, property damage, and other preventable emergencies. By analyzing data and understanding the specific risks within our community, we tailor our programs to address the greatest needs.

Our CRR efforts include:

  • Fire and life safety education for schools, businesses, and community groups
  • Smoke alarm installation and home safety checks
  • Business inspections and code compliance
  • Emergency preparedness outreach
  • Senior and vulnerable population safety initiatives

Community Risk Reduction is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can create a safer, more resilient community for everyone.
